Day 1, Monday 6 June 2016
LONDON – CANTERBURY
Arrive in London, collect your rental vehicle and make your way to Canterbury to check-in to your hotel, which is centrally located within the ancient city walls and close to Canterbury Cathedral. As your afternoon and evening is at leisure, you may wish to acquaint yourself with the local area which is offers a wide variety of shops, restaurants & bars, historic sites and traditional architecture.
Day 2, Tuesday 7 June 2016 Golf Day
Enjoy 18 holes of golf at Royal Cinque Ports. Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club is a famous seaside links that has held two Open Championships and is currently a final Open Qualifying venue.
Day 3, Wednesday 8 June 2016 Golf Day
Enjoy 18 holes of golf at Royal St Georges Golf Club which has a distinguished golfing history having played host to The Open Championship fourteen times. In common with many links, it is characterized by humps and swales, dunes and wild rough, fast-running fairways and deep bunkers.
Day 4, Thursday 9 June 2016 Golf Day
CANTERBURY – LONDON
Enjoy 18 holes of golf at Prince’s Golf Club. The course represents all that is best in links golf in the use of depression ridges and broken ground on a predominantly flat surface with as little protection from the wind. The remainder of your evening is at leisure to enjoy your final night in Canterbury.
Day 5, Friday 10 June 2016
LONDON – NEWMARKET
Check-out of your hotel this morning and travel back to London Heathrow where you will drop off your rental vehicle and meet up with the balance of the group to transfer to Newmarket by coach. Located north of London in Suffolk County, Newmarket is famous for its horse racing heritage dating as far back as 1174 and the town wears its love of horses proudly with special horse routes throughout as well as a wealth of stables right in the centre of town.
Day 6, Saturday 11 June
Enjoy an early start with a visit to one of the local stables, located within walking distance to your hotel and watch the horses exercising on the heath. Enjoy a tour of Newmarket and surrounding area and in the afternoon visit the National Thoroughbred Racing Museum which houses fascinating memorabilia of England’s rich thoroughbred racing history. This evening you will attend our Royal Ascot Welcome Dinner at the Bedford Hotel.
Day 7, Sunday 12 June
Morning is at leisure before departing on a tour to visit the historical city of Cambridge which is famous for its majestic university as well as its beautiful architecture, art galleries and museums. Return to Newmarket in the afternoon where the remainder of the evening is at leisure.
Day 8, Monday 13 June
NEWMARKET – LONDON Stud Farm
This morning you have another opportunity to watch the horses have their last workout before they head to Royal Ascot. This will be followed by a visit to Dalham Hall, the operational headquarters of Darley Stud, the global thoroughbred breeding operation owned by the Sheikh of Dubai, then continue on to London arriving mid-afternoon.
Day 9, Tuesday 14 June
LONDON Race Day
Transfer to the race track for opening day of Royal Ascot with three group one races run today. No doubt the highlight will be the King’s Stand Stakes which is the first leg of the British global sprint. Australian horses have a great record in this event with Choisir in 2003, Take Over Target 2006, Miss Andretti 2007 and Scenic Blast 2010 being successful.
Day 10, Wednesday 15 June
After breakfast, join a half day sightseeing tour of London taking in all of London’s most renowned landmarks and major attractions which may include the Tower of London, Big Ben, St. Pauls Cathedral and many others. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Day 11, Thursday 16 June Optional Golf Day
You have the day at leisure to explore London’s wealth of attractions at your own pace. You might want to join an optional tour to Windsor Castle, home to the Royal Family for 900 years, followed by a visit to Stonehenge and the Georgian city of Bath. Alternatively you have the option to play 18 holes at one of the leading championship courses in the London area.
Day 12, Friday 17 June Optional Golf Day
With no scheduled program today, you may attend racing at Ascot again. Having at least one Group 1race every day and a prize pool of over £3 million, there is never a dull moment during Royal Ascot. Alternatively you have the option to play 18 holes at one of the leading championship courses in the London area.
Day 13, Saturday 18 June
LONDON Race Day
The exciting racing action comes to a close today and you will attend the final day of Royal Ascot. Today’s highlights include the group one Golden Jubilee Stakes which was won by the Australian horse Choisir in 2003, again by his son Star Spangled Banner in 2010 and of course by Black Caviar in 2012. At the conclusion of the race you will be transferred back to your hotel.
Day 14, Sunday 19 June
Check-out of your hotel this morning and make your way to the airport or continue with your own travel arrangements.
